This race is locally run by a wonderful group of volunteers and because of that there are zero administrative or overhead costs! Proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit the wide range of programs of Horizons; Community Health & Nutrition, Financial Health, Family and Victim Advocacy, and Transportation. Horizons is a nationally accredited not-for-profit human services agency serving, educating, and assisting individuals and families at every stage of life so that they may achieve self-sufficiency and their personal best. For more information, please visit www.horizonsfamily.org.
Additional proceeds also benefit the Feeding Lunch to Youth program (FLY), a program supported by the churches of Marion. FLY provides lunches to low-income school age children during school breaks so that they will have a healthy lunch and not go without.
*Update: In 2018, $25,000 of the race proceeds went to Horizons and $2,500 went to the FLY program!
